About Race Workers

You can be a race worker in the Oregon Region of the Sports Car Club of America!

Oregon Region SCCA is always looking for volunteer race workers. We need people to help us conduct our own club racing events, as well as providing workers to the ChampCar and ALMS races.

We are looking for volunteers in the following areas:

  • Flaggers - Use flags to communicate vital information to race drivers.
  • Communicators - Provide vital race communications about what is happening on track.
  • Pre-Grid - Help to stage the cars in order for entering the track & check for safety gear.
  • Registration - Help to register competitors and workers for the race weekend.
  • Sound Control - Monitor sound level of race cars to ensure compliance with dB limits.
  • Tech Inspector - Survey cars before and after an event to verify cars are legal and follow SCCA competition rules.
  • Timing & Scoring - Provide quilifying times and race results using state-of-the-art computer equipment and results software. Maintain track record information.
  • Pit Control - Help to keep the hot pit area safe and orderly.
  • Emergency - Use your training to handle emergency situations on track.
  • Announcer - Looking for a track announcer
