OREGON REGION SCCA BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING MINUTES
APPROVED: DATE: 11/2/16 PLACE: Raccoon Lodge Restaurant PRESENT: BOARD MEMBERS: Todd Harris, Kristen Moore, Paul Goudy, Chris Hale, Tim Ferrick, Tim Scott. OFFICIALS: Karen McCoy. Mary Thompson MEMBERS: Doug Berger, Randy Thieme, Dan Bullis, Tim McMann ABSENT: Jim Weidenbaum, Lacey Otis CALL TO ORDER: Todd called the meeting to order at 7:05, MEMBER/NEW BUSINESS COMMENTS: Todd welcomed the BOD nominees present and asked them to introduce themselves. Both Dan and Randy gave a short bio and their area of interest. REGIONAL OFFICE: Karen broached the question of just what is the value of sponsorship. She suggested that we look at the various offers and their costs to see what we can do to make it more inviting to those interested in stepping up for a weekend, a group etc. More to come on this. TREASURER: Absent LOUD PEDAL: Absent DIRECTORS REPORTS: ROAD RACE: Paul talked about the last season and some of the challenges that we faced. He then gave the following dates for 2017: 4/14-15 Dbl with test day and school 5/18-21 Majors with test day Super Tour (1 of only 10 in US) 6/9-11 Dbl with test day 7/6-9 Rose Cup (co with Cascade & FOPIR) 8/10-13 Triple Regional SOLO II: (Lacy absent) Dan relayed that Solo has changed their format, class structure etc. More of these changes will be discussed in 2017 RALLY: Chris reported that The Or 1000 was completed with 15 entrants Two other events were cancelled: The Rally X in Chehalis due to conflict in the area and The Mt Hood Rally, due to lack of a permit. VINTAGE:No report DIRECTOR I: Absent Karen advised that the banquet menu has been set and she thinks it will be a good one. DIRECTOR II: Tim said that TNiA would follow the same format as last year. He would like to see the region or Ntl come up with more incentive for entrants to join SCCA. He gave the following dates for TNiA 2017: 4/14 5/19 6/9 6/30 8/11 9/15 PAST REGIONAL EXEC: Absent ASST: REGIONAL EXEC: Kristen mentioned the new camping fee and early entry fee, prior to an event that PIR plans to put in place. This will impact both drivers and workers in 2017. We need to address this early on before our new season starts. REGIONAL EXEC: Todd said that he felt all in all that our season went well. It was not as profitable as we would have liked and that is something that we need to look at for 2017. How to both increase our membership and our driver counts at our events.
