Spring is coming, well, at least I think so. With the weather in the Northwest over the last couple weeks, one might think we are stuck in winter.
If you don’t already know, Oregon Region won 2018 Jumbo Region of the year. This award is based on many factors, all of which are impacted by our members, board members and certainly our volunteers. I went to Las Vegas this January to receive the award and take part in the National convention. We had many great discussions with National office staff and other regional leaders regarding important issues affecting regions across the country. The number one topic, Customer Service. By that, we mean, everyone involved in running an event is, in part, responsible to insure our members have a great weekend. Our own Oregon Region has been exemplary at this, and it shows when we receive Jumbo Region of the year award. The direction our board has been on, and will continue to pursue, is to run an amazing event and to insure our membership has a positive memorable experience. This starts the minute members pay the annual dues to be a part of this club. From the moment an SCCA member registers at an event, to presenting a car to Tech. or happily assisting them with issues that may arise. Whether or not they may be asking a big favor or simply not understanding what may need to be done, we all must provide them with courteous and friendly service and answers. The life and growth of Oregon SCCA depends on this positive behavior. This is the direction Oregon Region BOD is going and we will do our very best to see that our members have a great experience, no matter which event they be participating in. Happy racing to everyone in 2019. We look forward to seeing you at the events Tim Ferrick Oregon Region Regional Executive
